I’m Dan,
a UX UI Designer

The fundamental principle of UX is understanding your users' needs and their thoughts and behaviours. I focus on the end to end UX process, from UX research, wireframe design and prototyping to high fidelity design. I've practised UX across mobile apps and the web.

I'm continually leading and learning, being inspired by other people. I keep in touch with the latest UX trends by spending time reading articles or browsing posts on Linkedin.

My story

Born in a small town in Wellington, I moved to Auckland. My interest in design and technology, in general, started when Microsoft released Windows Phone back in 2010. The UI was very different from competitors like IOS and Android. My interest in Microsoft's design decisions piqued my interest in technology and digital product design.

I started in the graphic design field during my years in high school. I went to AUT in Auckland and studied Communication Design with my pathway in UX UI Design. At AUT, I did many side projects to improve my UI design skills and learn the UX design process. One of those side projects was creating a hypothetical Archive of Our Own (AO3) app.

After sharing the app design online, AO3 approached me to take inspiration from the look and feel and the UX of the design. My first full-time job was at Les Mills, where I first applied as an intern.

As a full-time employee at Les Mills, I learned the entire UX process from research to development handover and improved my project management skills.
